A Few Random Things...

First I'm going to rant because now that I'm not in charge anymore I CAN!! :) We, as in the Younger Sisters in our Ward, have got to start getting ourselves to RS Meeting! I have said it before, I was not a regular RS goer, in fact I never went until I was asked to assist Leah Jane. I know as well as anyone how hard it is to drag yourself to one more thing, but RS is the one thing that feeds your soul and gives you the spiritual boost you need! I know I don't feel refreshed or uplifted after I have drug myself to one more thing in my already busy life, but RS Meeting is the exception! If I can make it, ANYONE can make it! Let's use last night as an example, Warren was leaving for California, Kylan and Kylee were out doing chores and in the time I ran to go get my Babysitter, Warren had met up with the kids some how and VANISHED!! He didn't have his phone with him, I had no idea where they had gone, Kirby knew what was up and that I was leaving and was having NONE of it! So I had a screaming baby, two lost kids, and a Husband that I couldn't find and was not going to be able to say goodbye to and left my house feeling like I was scattered in a million different directions! I won't even go into what the last few weeks have been like not to mention the last few days! Warren is rarely home to keep the kids, and when he is home, the last thing I want to do is leave when I don't see him very much as it is, but I am ALWAYS so glad I worked it into my schedule and made it a priority, it is where we SHOULD be! Stop making excuses and get to RS Meeting!!

The other thing is THIS BLOG!! What will happen to it? One idea that I had was we could turn it into a "Ward" blog where all the Presidencies could post about whatever they wanted to.... I guess we'll have to see who will be the new RS Coordinator and if she wants to keep the blog going, I hope someone will, now that I'll be out of the Loop I want somewhere to go to stay informed of all that is going on!! :)

Visiting Teaching Conference 2010 Cont.

Ok, the next time you hear "Marsha Reaves is in charge of the food," you better sit up and pay attention because you WILL want to be there! What a Talented Lady! I want to THANK her for putting so much time and talent into our meal! Everything was so well done and not to mention DELICIOUS!!!! Let me just show you some pics....

If I could only describe this cheese ball to you! Marsha put one of these on each table, it was not only the Yummiest thing I have ever tasted, they were SO PRETTY!! It's a good thing I had to keep standing up during the program or I could have sat there and eaten the whole thing!! WOW!!

Then there were these little pieces of heaven! Marsha called these a cream puff, all I know is that they were SO TASTY! They were little Chicken Sandwiches unlike any I have ever tasted, and by far the best I have ever had! I NEED this recipe!!!

The food was almost to pretty to eat.... the key word here is almost!

For Dessert we she did a fruit salad and we had this amazingly moist pound cake with a fruit topping and home made cream to go on top! Marsha made absolutely EVERYTHING by hand! There was no "Cool Whip" here ladies, she went above and beyond her call of duty! Oh, and of course sliced almonds to top it all off!

I want to again THANK all of those that helped with everything! We have some AMAZINGLY Talented Sisters that make our Ward GREAT!! Thanks!!

Visiting Teaching Conference 2010

Shirley Hart was our Speaker and she did such a great job! She talked about the importance of Visiting Teaching and touched a little on the History of our Relief Society. She told some good stories about NewCastle and I could have listened for hours! Thanks Shirley you truly are someone we all look up and admire!

Carma, Shirley, Bea, Katherine, Norma, Ellen and ReVoe (not pictured) are the Amazing Sisters that we spotlighted and have been faithful Visiting Teachers for over 50 Years!! I just Love these Sisters, I enjoyed hearing about each of them and want to give them a HUGE THANKS from all of us!

Visiting Teaching Conference!!!!

So I have been a space case this last week, I hope we got the word out about our VT Conference this week! I didn't even have Bishop announce it in Sacrament! Please make sure everyone knows, it is going to be GREAT! If nothing else just come to get out of making Dinner and let Marsha do it for you! Marsha Reeves is in charge of our Meal and it is sure be Outstanding! Oh by the way, I have been "bribing" the Elders with treats to make sure they encourage their wives to come, so if your husband excepted bribery then doesn't follow through, he's in BIG TROUBLE!! :)

Can't wait to see you there!

All Good Things Must Come to an End.....

For those of you that missed a GREAT Sacrament Meeting, there was a Ton of changes in our Ward. I couldn't write fast enough so I am not even going to try and list all the releases, but want to give out a HUGE THANKS to those of you that served! If I make any mistakes on the new Callings PLEASE forgive me!! It didn't help that I was crying all the while I was sustaining all the new calls and trying to write neat enough to read it later, so here goes nothing. First of all they released me as RS Meeting Coordinator, (I have serious issues with this) and I have been called to serve as the Primary President, my 1st counselor is Jessica Dupass, 2nd counselor is Christy Tullis, and our Secretary is Jamie Gardner! I have to say I am way nervous about this, but at the same time, I'm way excited to be serving with these great Women, and SO Grateful they excepted their callings! By the way, did I hear "GASPS" when they called my name as President!! My thoughts EXACTLY!!! I hope the Good Lord knows what he's doing! Ok moving on, our Sunday School Presidency was reorganized, Jim Christiansen is President, Bill Hall 1st counselor, Josh Dupass 2nd counselor, and Wade Platt remains as Secretary. The Young Mens Presidency was reorganized also, Kyle Christensen is President, Crea Christensen 1st counselor, Bill Steele 2nd counselor, and Todd Tullis as the Secretary. Here is another place I couldn't write fast enough and I was still bawling so I hope I get these right! They put David Bosshardt in as Assistant Secretary, Jason Pauly in as Assistant Preist Advisor, Raymond Tullis in as Assistant Deacon Advisor, and Ryan Christensen in as Assistant Teacher. Congratulations to all of you and your new callings, and if you feel like I do, you need a big GOOD LUCK as well!

I have been sick ever since Bishop called me into his office a week and a half ago. I really enjoyed my short lived calling as RS Meeting Coordinator! When the Lord figures I have done enough damage in Primary, I speak that calling back "NO BATTLE!" (that's a "Twiner" term) I have to say the most important thing I will take away from this is the Love that I have gained for RS and RS Meeting! Once you have been on this end of it and see all the thought, time, effort, talent, and preparation that goes into a RS Meeting, I can't imagine staying home! Not to mention what you hear and feel while you're there! Thanks to everyone that helped me, we truly have some AMAZING Sisters in our Ward!

What's New...

We had a great Lesson Today and an Awesome Good News Minute! Sister Sanger and her husband had the opportunity to travel to Oregon to see their Grandson Graduate from HS, from Seminary, and receive his Eagle Scout!! That was quite a trip! Sister Beachum's son Danny got put in the Bishopric last week, that was the reason behind her mysterious disappearance! Our most favorite Brother Humphries had a successful surgery on his leg, he can WALK again! What a strong Man he is! Our Hearts are always with Brother and Sister Humphries during this hard time. Sister Richardson's Cat had a big litter of Kittens and she was able to get rid of them all in front of Wal-Mart! I think Gaylene ought to borrow a couple of kids (hint hint) and take her litter of 9 pups to Wal-Mart one of these days! Mandy Laub received her teaching license! Congratulations to her! Thanks Sister Gubler for a very touching Lesson on the Atonement, it is one we need to hear over and over!

What's New...

We didn't have any good news minutes today but we had a few announcements that I that were pretty important so I'm passing them along. Deb commented on how great the Building looked, for those of you that don't know, we recently were told we would no longer have janitors coming into our Building to clean. It is up to us as Ward Members to take care of our entire Meeting House. If you have taken a turn and cleaned it, you know what a time consuming job it is, now it will be an even BIGGER job!! I would encourage every Ward Member to take their turn in cleaning, we need to look at it as a "Right" and a "Privilege" to help take care of the Lord's House. A couple of things mentioned were how we need to make sure to do our part each week and help those that are coming into clean. After I cleaned the Building the first time I realized how important it is to clean up after ourselves, I make sure before we leave after Sacrament that my Kids haven't left any of their papers or wrappers in the Hymn Book Holders, on the floor, or on the Bench. I also make sure the treats I bring for my kids will not leave crumbs, last but not least, if you see something that needs taken care Please take a minute and do so! The other day in one of our wind storms I drove by the Church and seen the big trash can tipped over, so I stopped and tipped it up, what a mess that would have been if the trash would have gotten scattered everywhere!! These simple things that only take us a second will save the ones that will clean a TON of time! So Please be considerate of those that will be cleaning up after us, let's make sure we do our part and make it easier for us ALL!! Sorry, I think I rambled for a brief minute there, moving on... Of course we announced our VT Conference for the 24th at 7:00, I hope all of you will plan to attend! Take a minute and look at the Food Storage sign up sheet, I know I need too! We had a great Lesson, Cindy did a wonderful job on her short notice fill in Lesson, we really appreciate our Presidency and all of their hard work!
